My Soggy Valentine

All Photos (c) Airads
These are photos of the outskirts of Canterbury around Sturry, that I took before the last two days of rain. I expect the impact to be a great deal worse by now.

I wonder if I will be called back into the air tomorrow to photograph the aftermath of this weekend's storm.

Thanks for that Simon I didn’t realise the river was navigable to motor cruisers that far up, I guess there must be a bit of a balancing act with the sluices to try and prevent serious flooding in Canterbury. BTW I think the top and bottom pictures may be the same picture.

Is that in fact Fordwich, the smallest town in England, and where boats were built in ancient times?

I have just learned that we had an even wetter Jan/Feb in 1852.

Probably caused by all those 4x4 horses?
